My custom content isn't working on sims 4

Hi,
Since november, ive had issues with getting my custom content to work.
I have watched mulitple videos on youtube/blogs/anything you can think of.
I gone through numerous threads but nothing suggested seems to be working
my custom content is enabled, all my content is .package
My folder is in documents>electonic arts>The sims 4>mods
I have uninstalled my game and repaired it multiple times
My icloud is turned off for docments and i dont use one drive, however, nothing has had any effcet whatsoever.
And although the box for show at start up is ticked, it doesnt show even though there is compatible CC in the folder.
All of my CC is up to date with new patches and and works with the game.
Any help is appreciated 
Please could you click on your Mods folder once to select it then go to File > Get Info. Under the General > Where section near the top of the info window please copy and paste the location of your Mods folder here.
Could you also please post a screenshot of the contents of your Mods folder?

/Users/ellie/Desktop/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4
Have you created a second Documents folder on the Desktop? The Electronica Arts folder should be in the Documents folder in your Home folder, the correct file path should be:
/Users/ellie/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4

Ok. Could you post the screenshot of the contents of your Mods folder?
Also, repeat the steps you did above to get the file path of the Mods folder but this time click on one of the pieces of CC and please post the file path here
