MacBook Air: I accidentally deleted my sims 4 folder

★★★★ Novice

Hey there, i accidently deleted my sims 4 folder (i use a macbook air) from the documents >electronic arts trying to fix my custom content as it was not working properly. However i then deleted my sims 4 folder after trying to follow innstructions on how to fix my cc. I dont have a back up to my folder or nothing in it but the game. I have tried restarted the game, reinstalling and a new folder has not generated or anything. If anyone could help that would be really grea and helpful.

Thank you

Not really sure why but you seem to have put your game into an Electronic Arts folder. The game should be in your Applications folder, like Photos, iTunes etc. are, not within another folder.

Open the Applications folder and drag and drop the Sims 4 game into it. Where is that Electronic Arts folder it was in?

@epadmore03  I believe your screenshot shows Applications, not Documents, hence the lack of a game folder.

Does the game actually load when you try to launch?  If so, there has to be a new TS4 folder somewhere.  If you have iCloud enabled, though, the folder could keep getting uploaded to cloud storage before you have a chance to find it.  You can find it there and then either disable iCloud or change its settings to prevent automatic uploads.

How did you accidentally delete the folder? Normally, when you delete any file it will first go to the Trash-can on the right side of the Dock. Have you checked there or have you emptied you Trash already?

I also don't understand the screenshot you took. Where are you? Is that the Documents-folder? If that's where you store your game (in stead of the Applications-folder) that might be the reason it won't generate a new folder (?not sure tho?) - try moving it to the Applications-folder.

I'm sorry i took so long to answer.

I hadn't noticed my games was not in application, so thank you for pointing that out. So I put my game back in to applications and i now have a new sims 4 folder that has generated.

All of the folders are in there but my CC doesn't seem to be working and i can't seem to figure out why. I've been through numerous other threads and searches and videos but nothing seems to work.

I don't know if that's something you could help with but thank you for helping me get my folder back.

@epadmore03

Do you have CC and script mods enabled in the in-game options?

@epadmore03

Is the CC in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods and you don't have iCloud Drive enabled?

Have you unzipped all the downloads so only .package and .ts4script files are in the Mods folder?

Is all your CC compatible with the current patch level of the game?

I deleted all my old CC so the only CC in my folder is new and compatiable.

My folder is in documents>electronic arts> sims 4 >mods and my CC is .package in the mods folder.
