So I've recently downloaded the Sims 3 with no EP and I get "Unkown Error" message. In another thread, I came across a patch which installed without a hitch, but I continue to get the same message. I have done the full un-install re-install about three times now with no luck. Any gurus out there able to help me with my dilemma????

@Guymz93 It sounds like you need to edit the game's .sgr files to force recognition of your graphics card. I can help you do that, if you want; just provide your specs, along with the device ID of your card. Here's how to find that information:

Or, if you see your card on the lists on that page, you can download Bluebellflora's text and add it to the files yourself.
It's best to start though with a clean uninstall of everything TS3-related. The uninstaller doesn't remove the game's hidden library files, so you'll need to delete them manually. Here's a guide:
