Mac: Game crashing frequently after downloading Seasons

After downloading Seasons my game has been lagging a lot. It crashes frequently too. When it crashes an Apple pop up shows on the screen saying that the Sims 4 crashes unexpectedly. How can I fix it?

Try repairing it in Origin. Could you also trash the Options.ini file in your Sims 4 folder and see if that helps? Your graphics settings will be set back to default settings so don't change anything straight away. Play for a bit and see if it has improved.

I did everything you said and played for a Sim day. Normally it would’ve crashed a few minutes after I started playing. Everything worked good, thanks for the help!

My game crashed again earlier today. Is there anything else I can try to do to fix it?

Oh no Did you change any of the graphics settings again? If you play with Mods/CC can you move out your Mods folder and see if you can play better without them?

Here’s my Mac settings:

macOS Sierra 

Version 10.13.5

processor: 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5

memory: 4GB

graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB

I’ll try to play on a lower graphics setting and see if it works.

Sorry about the late reply, been busy in RL. Your Mac is probably struggling with playing Seasons as it has added a lot graphically to the game. How are you getting on with low settings?

I have it on medium right now. Would low medium be better to help stop the crashes?

Yes, hopefully. Make sure you have nothing else running on your Mac while you're playing too.
