@Oliviagrant110 Did the Origin reset tool (linked above) not help with the finalizing issue?
What happens if you try to launch TS3 from from the icon in Applications, rather than using Origin? If this doesn't work, especially if you get the unknown error message, please list your Mac's specs, as described in this post:
Please also list the packs you have installed, and whether you've uninstalled any packs as well.
No the origin rest tool did not work, and the icon is not in applications. i have bought Sims 3 starter pack and Sims 3 Island paradise. both however haven't downloaded yet because the sims 3 won't stop finalising.
@Oliviagrant110 Run the Origin reset tool again, then right-click on the Origin icon in Applications and select Move to Trash. Then download and install Origin again. Try installing only the base game. If it gets stuck finalizing again, let me know and I'll write out directions to use the downloaded disc image to install without Origin's involvement.
Please also list your Mac's specs, as described in the post I linked earlier. There have been some issues with running Origin on older versions of macOS, although that seems to be (mostly) solved these days.
@Oliviagrant110 Here's how to provide your specs:
When you say the game crashed after five minutes, were you trying to create a sim or doing something else?

@shamstersham If you're having an issue with your game, please describe what isn't working, as well as any error messages you're seeing. I'd be happy to try to help, but I can't do that without more information.
