I take it you've never successfully played the game on this computer?  If you've ever installed The Sims 3 before, try dragging your TS3 folder out of Documents and storing it somewhere else for safekeeping, like on your desktop with a new name.  Then relaunch the game,  If your previous install used discs, you'll need to completely uninstall the game and its packs before reinstalling through Origin, as the disc and digital versions do not mix well.

If TS3 is new to this computer, then the first thing to try is to manually apply the Super Patch.  Select the digital download version, not one for any of the other regions, and follow the instructions on the website below.

If this doesn't work, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling Origin only.  This should not affect The Sims 3 or any other games you have installed.

If you're still unable to play, please post your computer's specs, including which operating system you're currently running.

EA/Origin has been known to mistakenly distribute a game code associated with a TS3 expansion pack disc copy instead of one meant for digital download.  You could try contacting customer service to explain your issue and ask for new codes.
