Hi all ,
Pretty specific question here. So I had to free up space on my macbook and move the EA folder, which initially, I had placed in my ICloud drive. So I moved it from there to my mac, in the home folder.
I then opened the game (Sims 4), and all the data got lost. No families, nothing. It opened as if I'd just downloaded it. It even created another EA folder in my ICloud Drive again.
Funnily enough, the original EA folder (that I'd moved to my mac) is still on my mac, untouched, with all the data and files in it.
Question is: How could I open the game using the original EA folder? Is there a way I could get my families back and recover everything?

What is the exact file path of the folder you moved? And what is the exact file path of the folder that has been recreated? Click on the Sims 4 folders and press i to bring up the info window:
