@dzm06 I actually found those suggestions/instructions online and followed them. It did not work. However, I will try again right now to see if I did something wrong the previous time.

Change the language to something other than English
Do a "repair game"
See if it launches with the foreign language

@dzm06 In the end I decided to disable SIP. I know it is a risk and I enable it again once I’m done playing. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it because it makes your Mac no longer secure, but it worked haha.

@lehoeven Disabling SIP somehow fixed this? That's really interesting! How did you come to this solution? Do you have any idea why it might have helped? Anything you can tell me about this solution would be REALLY interesting. (Plus, also, I'd encourage you not to do it and to try the language-changing-dance above just to be sure )
