Downloading issue

★★★ Newbie

I recently downloaded and installed my sims 3 game on my mac. I launched the game but it kept freezing on me and kicking me out. I thought I would try to un-install. When I opened it in origin it will not give me an uninstall option. It says the game is finalizing. I right clicked and it gave me the play option. When I click on that I get a pop up that says "download in progress". How do I fix this!? I have contacted EA support and tried every possible option. I just want to get it off my computer at this point! Can anyone help?

@osoglamorous21  For the "finalizing"/"download in progress" messages, try running the Origin reset tool for Macs:

TS3 isn't supposed to be uninstalled via Origin, at least not in macOS.  There's still an uninstaller that gets added to the TS3 folder in Applications, just as there was for disc installs.  But the uninstaller often doesn't work, and it never removes the hidden library files.  You'll have to clean them out yourself.  Here's a guide:

If you're interested in getting the game up and running in the future, feel free to post back.  Some Macs can handle TS3 better than others, and the game will never run as well as it would in Windows.  (Some of us have Bootcamped our Macs just to play properly.)  But the problem could also be the packs you've installed, or the world you played.  For example, Isla Paradiso is so poorly made that it lags and freezes on even the most powerful computers, making it completely unplayable without edits.

I don't work for EA. I'm just trying to help fellow players with their games.

Thank you! I had tried resetting my origin and it did not help. I ended up just having to delete the sims 3 files (there was no uninstall option). my origin account still says the game is finalizing, but it appears to be completely gone from my mac as my storage is back to where it was before the download.
