Sims not getting paid for work

I put 19 sims to work overnight. In the morning, I received a notification that 5 of my sims were finished with work, and had received x amount of Money. But my simoleon total DID NOT CHANGE, I made sure of the total before I went to bed.

it seems for this, and for xp, I only receive the money if I “visit” this sim, which isn’t an option with multiple sims finishing work at the same time.
