You probably need to move or turn the drum set so the teen can get to it.

You may need to move it or spin it around.  Only time I had that problem was when they couldn't get to it.  Hope that helps!

Hey @cabbagesandroses as I understand it only a teenage sim can play the drums. I believe that the instruments are part of the Road to Fame Quest and to complete it you need a teenage sim who will play the instruments.

Adults use instruments too, as it’s an option for Life Dreams.  I have a music studio set up, where adults can either, sing, play keyboard, guitar, or drums to earn life orbs.  You must have the Life Dreams and Legacies quest complete to assign personalities and choose life dreams for adult Sums.

I am not sure that teens can use all the different drum sets

Have you completed the second row of the hobby Teen Idol?

Teens can not use drums until the drums are unlocked in the Hobby Teen Idol
