sims shuts down

Hi i dont know why but every time i play sims 3 after i play it for 5 mutes it shuts down. At first it was 30 minutes and now its five minutes. Could you please help me with this problem because i really enjoy playing this game but i cant play it since it shuts down every 5 minutes!!!!
