"Unable to Connect to Origin"

I just got a new computer for christmas, and it has 2 hard drives (not used to this, one is a solid state drive) and I finally downloaded my Sims 3 correctly and it let me on the game last time I checked. I was about to start downloaded all the content I bought from The Sims 3 site- and I got an error message that said "Unable to Connect ot Origin" a

 

I thought I just installed it wrong or something weird happened....but I have seen people on the community forums all saying they have the same problem.

One person said uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help.
