Using Origin Id on Sims 3 site gives error. [ Edited ]

Hi,

I have acquired a Sims 3 license as a part of the recent Humble Bundle deal. Following the instructions provided, I am attempting to use my Origin id (email and password) to login to the Sims 3 website and register my product code. However every time I enter the user name and password, I get a response indicating that the website is experiencing technical difficulties:

"Be Right Back!

We seem to be experiencing some technical difficulties."

I have tried this on numerous occasions over the past couple of weeks or so - to no avail.

Are there some alternative steps I can try to get past this problem?

I have tried to create myself as new user on the Sims 3 site. Unsurprisingly it says I am already a member. Still won't let me log in though ...

try clear your browser cache tools-internet options-delete browsing history or if your using google chrome switch browser to IE or firefox ( you can switch back to the one you use most often ) or as a last resort in your electronics art/thesims3/downloads there is  a file with your email address delete that try log in again )
