Trying to patch my game, "File Transfer Error: Catastrophic Failure"

Please help. I've been trying to patch my game.. I've reinstalled Sims 3 and EPs that I have.. current version 1.26.. I tried the update through the launcher and got a catastrophic error... I downloaded the super patch 1.42 and also got catastrophic error. I don't know what to do!!

Hi kandks,

Please try de-installing your game and re-installing it again. After that update it with the super patch.
