Trouble with download

Last year I purchased the downloadable version of The Sims 3. When I got bored with it, I bought the Generations expansion pack. Loved it, played it for a long time until I didnt have time for it. I moved and use a new computer now. I logged onto my Origin account today to download it onto my new computer, When I clicked "My games" it shows The Sims 3: Generations. When I click Install it says "This product requires an installed copy of The Sims 3". Meaning I have to download the Sims 3 before I can download The Sims 3: Generations but the only game appearing in "My Games" is Generations and its like I never even purchased the The Sims 3 to begin with. What do I do?

did you use a different email and password when you got the sims3 base game ? if you did you'll need to contact CS to assist with merging the accounts

or is the base game on steam ? if it is the an origin version of expansion or stuff packs will not work with steam versions
