Traveling is taking along time to load

So I wanted my sims to travel to France, but the loading screen to go there is taking soo long. And I mean along time I'm still waiting and its been two hrs now. I actually head tried to do this before earlier today but I gave up closed the game and reset my computer. and because of that I didn't get to save my game. And that time i had waited almost 3 and half hrs. So I decided to try again and the same thing is happening. I really need help its really frustrating. I also don't have that many mods just the story progression and master controller
