I just recieved the windows 8 computer for christmas. I decided to put my sims games on my windows 8 laptop. I downloaded sims 3 base game first. made sure it worked and it did. so i downloaded the rest of the stuff packs and expansion packs onto my laptop. Now with all of them on my laptop this message pops up every time i want to play or download something onto my sims 3. It said "The license limit for this product has been reached." I don't know why it happens. Please help! What should I do to play sims 3 on my laptop.

Hi xxsimschickxx,
The best way to go is to un-authorize the game on your old computer. This is how you do it:
You should get a message alerting you De-authorization was successful once the Launcher is finished de-authorizing your machine. Keep in mind De-authorization does not uninstall the game. If you decide you want to re-authorize your computer later, all you have to do is re-launch the game.
Note: De-authorization applies only to digitally downloaded copies of The Sims 3. The retail disk version of The Sims 3 requires the disk in the drive to launch and play the game, and does not use DRM with machine limitations.
Hope that helps!

You can contact customer support and they will reset it for you
The AnswerHQ is about Users helping Users.
They can be found here: https://help.ea.com/contact-us/ask
Choose a category, a game and a platform for the contact options to show up.
If live chat is gray, change your country to US and make sure you're on US Business hours. It might also gray because they're very busy. Try later.
See this post if you have trouble with the site: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2012/10/how-to-contact-ea.html
