The Sims Launch screen won't connect to Origin

Hey, my Sim's launch screen keep saying 'error, can't connect to Origin,' and I don't know how to fix it. I've re-downloaded Origin twice and still nothing and now my game is glitching a whole lot. How can I get it to connect to Origin?
