The Sims 3 crashing

is it a laptop or a desktop ? Does it also have a graphic chip in there ? The game has trouble recognizing the game.
Also WIndows 8 and some of the newer graphic cards have still problems with their drivers

If this does not help you, I would suggest making your own thread (restating all you wrote). For crashing it's better if everyone has their own thread.
