The Sims 3 University Life issues

I just installed the game today and had no problems until I sent a sim to the university as soon as I selected a dorm and clicked the check mark it wont do anything! Its not frozen or anything but it wont start the game I've tried clicking on the different dorms but it just doesn't do anything! HELP!!!
