Sims Seasons won't install, Pop up saying that my Sims 3 game is not installed?

I purchased Sims 3 Seasons today and when I first installed it something went wrong and I had to uninstall both Seasons and my original Sims 3. I re-installed my Sims 3 and now when I try to install Seasons I get a pop up that says that Seasons needs Sims 3 in order to be played and it must be installed .. but it is already installed. I have restarted my computer twice and am beginning to get frustrated. Help Please!!

- What is your operating system ?

- Do you have any of the games on Steam ?

- Did you clean out the registry on uninstalling ?
