Sims 3 won't take the register number?

Whenever I tried registering my Sims 3 Base Game onto my account on the Sims 3 Community Website, it doesn't take the code that I put in. I got the Base Game when it was released, but my older sibilings usually played it for a few years untill I kept the game for myself. I'm not sure if they have created an account on the community website already and perhaps already registered the Base Game. Is there anyway to re-register the Base Game onto a newer account if that's the problem? I've been trying to download houses, but I can't with this issue. Any suggestions?

If it's registered, there's not much you can do.

You can try if a game advisor can give you the info.
