I just purchased this a couple of days ago and when I installed both only the Sims 3 showed up in my Origins library. I tried opening it and upgraded to the newest patches but it just goes to a black screen then minimizes and does nothing. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times and even just installing The Sims 3 part only and nothing changes. What do I do?
I have a HP Pavilion lap top with Windows 7 and AMD Radeon graphics

So Uni does not show up in myGames but you can install it or is this error just with the base game ?
DId you buy the game as disc or through Origin ?

I think it is just the base game. I installed the first one and it shows up in myGames when I installed University it didn't show up in my games but shows up on my harddrive. When I try to open it the Origin library pulls up with only the Sims 3 so I tried opening that and the launcher comes up but when i hit play on the launcher it goes to the black load screen then minimizes and does nothing. The icon stays in my tray but I can't do anything unless i force close the app through task manager. I reinstalled just The Sims 3 and it still does it.
I brought the game as a disc.

Did you redeem both the base game AND the Uni life code on Origin ? There should be two codes.

Well, Uni needs to show up in your library as well. I would get in touch with customer support
