Sims 3 pets xbox360

Help just got sims3 pets for Xbox 360 and it's saying i havent completed the books to do mystery jornal so I can't complete it what can I do pls help

@Hunter-Chase-Bla  I'm not sure what's going on with your game.  The guides say that to unlock the mystery journal, your sim needs to go to City hall and register as a "Mysteriologist," whatever that is. Here's more information:

Could you post the exact message you're getting?  And is it possible for you to try on a new save?  Perhaps this one is borked.
