Sims 3 launcher 'critical system error' when attempting to install CC

I am soooo mad! Every single time I try to install custom content it loads, but then it comes up with 'Error: critical system failure. Done!' - I've researched it and everything suggests uninstalling and reinstalling your game. Well, I've done that and it is STILL doing it! 

Does anyone know anything I can do? I know I can still play the game at least, but it's awful without custom content mileysad:

What kind of Custom Content ? 3rd party from other Sites or from the Sims 3 Store ?

I am having the same problem and i have unistalled and reinstalled repeatedly. i just want to download wha i have purchased geeeeeezzzzzzz!

What is your base game version right now ?

Open the launcher and check the number in the lower left corner.

If you're not at 1.63, please update your game.

Also what is your operating system ?

I had the Same Problem 

I Bought Sims from Steam at Left Corner it Writes 0.0.0

What Should I Do ?

@KookiexAngel Did you remove the cc/mods and try the game? Try the factory reset - factory reset This will tell you if the game or the user data is causing the trouble. Are you trying to run the game from Steam?

I am having the exact problem and have sims running off of Steam. It says the version is 0.0.0.0. I get all my CC from other users in the community (3rd parties i guess) Do you know the answer for the problem?
