Sims 3 Windows 8 Install

★★★★ Novice

Hi, I am trying to install Sims 3 via disc on my new Windows 8 laptop after my old one broke. However it comes up with an error message after the installation is 3/4 of the way finished.

Data error cyclic redundancy check

Does anyone have any idea how I can install the game?

I recently bought a new machine with Windows 8 OEM on. I also had the 'FullBuild1.package' CRC error. I went through the list of solutions on this thread - when I got down to copying the Sims3 data from the disc to the computer it rendered a read-error on the same file - which means it's a problem with the physical disc - I took it out and realised there was some dirt on it. Cleaned, and it installed perfectly fine.
