Sims 3 University life stuck in university town

Hi there

A few days ago I had my Sim at University and had him drop out and go home. My sim went home but I stayed behind in the university town and I can't get back to my town. I have tried "Edit Town" from university but as soon as the load screen finishes I'm immediately back in the university town. When I try to load from the main menu, it just shows my university town and not Twinbrook. I have been stuck for days and it is really frustrating. I take it that it is a huge bug, but I really need a fix for it. By the way, I can edit all the locations from Sims world adventures, but not my town.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I realize that this was posted extreamly long ago but I fugured id try anyway. I recently ran into the same issue and can not find any advice on what to do. Were you able to find a solution to your issues? Thank you so much!
