Sims 3 Supernatural: Error occurs when moving in and playing a family [ Edited ]

I just bought the Sims 3 supernatural today, after making a family I attempted to move them in. As soon as I clicked on the house, all the menus disappeared and I could only hover over the neighborhood. The only option was to quit the game.
I tried loading a previous family in a house, but the "processing" alert stayed on the screen for well over 20 minutes.

I never had this problem before installing supernatural, and I see no one else with this problem.
 I just want to play my Sims -.-"

If it helps, I'm using a Macbook and I've already tried reinstalling the game, that did not work.

Turns out it was just some conflicting mods, thanks for the help! x

Does this also happen if you start a new game or is this only on existing games ?
