Sims 3 Install shield wizard saying update sims 3 failed, setup is unable to continue

I am having problems installing my sims 3 expansion packs onto my base sims 3 game, world adventures says its not the same code to get that one to install I had to regedit and change sku to 2 or 7 for it to work and install, then install shield wizard updated, now late night wont run as it cant find install shields update and says

update sims 3 failed, setup is unable to continue,

Please help me with the correct install route so I may get to play the game again.

This all started when I added world adventure the others use to run just fine!

Hi Jennifer,

Please try to update your game manually to the latest patch. Here a tutorial on how to do that:

After that you should be able to install the game.
