Sims 3 Generations wont install

So I recently bought a new computer (a macbook) and have been installing my Sims game and expansion packs. Ambitions and World Adventures installed with no problem, and then I went to install Generations. It seemed to install, but when I tried to launch the game it did not show it as installed in the Launcher, and when I search my hard drive for it there is absolutely no trace of the game. Yet it is still saying that it is downloaded in Origin; the only available link is 'play', not 'download'. Pretty please tell me how to fix this!

Seems a common issue on Macs

It's unfortunatley the only suggestion I have but I'm not very mac-savy.
