Sims 3 Games Keep Crashing [ Edited ]

I received Sims Showtime pack, and Sims world adventures for Christmas, and I installed both of them to my base game.  However, I have not gotten a chance to play them, because everytime I go to start up a game, I only get to play for about two minutes (I haven't gotten past the create a sim screen without it crashing) , it crashes and a window pops up on my Mac that says "Sims 3 has quit unexpectedly"   HOW DO I FIX THIS. Really want to play my Sims games. Very disappointed with the lack of help EA has been regarding this situation.

I used to have the same problem on my PC, until I upgraded my windows software to win 7, 64 bit version, and my power supply to 1200 watts.
