Hello,
Whenever I try to install a Sims 3 game via disk, I always get the error "Please insert disk 0 containing the Data3.cab file". There's one problem with that, I only have one disk. I tried registering an expansion on Origin, but it says that it was already used. Please help! I'm running Windows 10, btw.

@itsmepete0276 I would suggest downloading it through Origin normally.

tried doing what you said and it didn't work. I've contacted EA games (3 times) in 3 weeks. They have never gotten back to me. Typical I guess. buy a product and they refuse to help you fix their mess up.

@Whitkelly please contact a game adviser. Apparently you did not allow the chat to begin before closing. http://eahelp.ea.com/en/ . For help with navigating the site, see this: http://help.ea.com/en/article/contact-ea-help/
Thanks to @EA_Francois

This worked for me! It took a while to download, but it's completely worth it!

Ugh same issue for me. Asking for disk 0 data3.cab. I am trying to download Origin now to see if that fixes. Using windows 8 this is for the Sims 3 Island expansion pack.
Also when I cancel it then says setup.exe has stopped working.
UPDATE*****
After downloading Origin my game doesn't show up because the code (since I bought it in store) is only for in game features not the full download.
UPDATE******
Ok chatted with them and was told that if you go to your game (Sims 3) there is an (i) icon you click that and all of your registered expansion packs will show up. I am downloading now and will update again if I have a problem.
