Seasons not loading new household

I just installed Seasons and the patch. However I cannot choose a new household. I created new sims and tried to buy a lot but once I click "okay" (the checkmark) it will not go to the household. After that it will not load any other households either. Please help, I have no idea what to do and I just want to play my new game!
