Redeem a Code Broken

★★★ Novice

For some reason no matter what I do when I click the link to redeem a code the site freezes up and won't give me the option to redeem my code, is anyone else having this issue?

Hey all, just to let you know. We found the cause of the problem you reported in this thread and have released an update to the website to address it.
You should now be able to redeem codes properly without experiencing the endless loading.

Thank you for your reports and if you experience any other issues redeeming your codes on TheSims3.com let us know.

@CutieKitsune hey

Try clearing browser cache or using a different browser.

Otherwise, maybe try go to purchase history (so that it loads that) and then jump to redeem a code, rather than going straight  to redeem a code

Let me know how it goes Standard smile

Tried both, the options for registering a game and redeeming a code came up but when I click on the little plus to get to it there is no response

I'm starting to think this is an issue on the site admin's end and not really mine. I hope they see this, seems like they have been having a lot of server issues recently

The Make Me A Deal page is down and although it doesn't show it, the weekly deals page reverted yesterday to last weeks deals after showing this week's for just a short time.  Even the log in is out of whack.  Hopefully they're working on all this and your problem is just part of the larger one.  Frustrating I know but I think we just need to wait it out.  Personally I'm afraid to even make a purchase as is.  Just hang in there.  They're still making money from this site so they'll fix things to keep it that way.

Well, I guess I lied.  Contacted EA this morning and they apparently are not working on the site.  When I got ahold of someone who actually gave me time to write 2 sentences before ending the session there was some misunderstandings but it seems they are going to have a specialist look into site issues.  I made certain to let them know its not just me and suggested they look at answers hq to see all of your problems as well.  I'm to check with them later today to see if issues are being resolved.  I suggest all of you contact them as well with individual problems that the folks here haven't been able to help you fix.

Hello all,

The studio is aware of this issue and they are investigating. As a work around could you please try redeeming the code in-game?

Here are the steps on how to do this in game:

Spoiler

Steps:

  1. Launch the Sims 3 client
  2. Load any game and lot combination
  3. Click the “Buy Mode” button:

  1. While in Buy mode, click the “Shop Mode” button (or hit F4) to open the in-game Store:

  1. In IGS, log in (if not auto-logged in already) to your Sims 3 account:

  1. After logging in, click the left nav “Account Info & Settings” link:

*Note: you may be asked to log in again after this step.

  1. After logging in again if needed, on the My Store Account page, expand the “Redeem a Code” module:

  1. Enter your 16 digit code, confirm the TOS, and click the “Redeem” button:

Thank you for your patience while this being worked on!
