I finally updated my game to patch 1.63 and went to play but the game never loaded. The launcher was fine but when I clicked play the game would pop up like usual however it just remained black. At first I thought it might have been a problem with my computer since it wasn't updatedso I updated my computer and tried again but the same thing happened. So I backed up my cc and mods before uninstalling the base game only and tried playing and the same thing happened after I reinstalled the basegame and tried playing. After that I unistalled all of my expansion packs and reinstalled them before trying again and still nothing. I don't know if other people have had this issue or not but this only started happening after updating my game to 1.63. Please help.
I play on a PC.

since you said you have mods you need to check the state of the mod that it is the same patch level as your game also clear the cach files
delete the cach files go to electronic arts/the sims 3/
•CasPartCache.package
•compositorCache.package
•scriptCache.package
•simCompositorCache.package
•socialCache.package.package
it's safe to delete these files as a new ones will regenerate
see if this here is the same issue http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2013/06/black-screen-long-loading-times-and-tmp-files-in-dccache.html

welcomes
if you have Bitdefender temporarily disable it it is know to cause conflict with the sims 3
list of programs that can cause a conflict https://help.ea.com/au/article/programs-that-may-cause-conflicts-with-origin
also giving the game run as admin and compatibility mode can usually fix that once you give admin and run in compatibility mode for (right click the game icon-properties-compatibility )example run this program in compatibility mode for windows xp servicepack 3 can sort that oh and origin run as admin anytime any program is given admin rights always restart the computer you will need to the compatibility mode for each of the game icons and also restart the computer once you do that
