@steamerbeaker Try the version 1.67 super patch - link - Sims 3 version 1.67 super patch All the packs need to update to the 1.69 update. I'm guessing one of the packs is not updating. I recommend uninstalling the expansion packs and getting the digital download version through Origin as the software on the discs is out of date. Do the packs say download in Origin? Once you uninstall the packs see if the base game works.

@steamerbeaker You can't "install" the version 1.69 update. Origin will automatically update the game but the game needs to be at version 1.67. You could try to uninstall Origin and reinstall. Does the base game run? Origin is a client software and a reinstall shouldn't affect the game. You might get a registry cleaner like ccleaner (there is a free version) and clean the registry. This should clear any links that remain after an uninstall. If your game is at version 1.67 and the game won't update and you haven't played the game in a while then it is possible Origin is out of date and needs a reinstall using a registry cleaner before you install. If you still get a update message it is possible a pack failed to update. All packs have been updated to work with Origin and are not compatible with the pre 1.69 version. It is not apparent which pack is causing the issue. I recommend getting the digital download version through Origin.

@steamerbeaker FYI - Windows 7 SP1 EOL (end of life) is January 14, 2020. Most (all?) packs need to be updated to work with Origin. I'm guessing if an update of the pack(s) fail you probably need to uninstall and reinstall the pack(s). These updates take some time and if interrupted may not start again (or take a long to to restart) and the pack(s) may have to be reinstalled and I recommend getting the digital download version as the disc version will have to update. Origin may be sensing a pack(s) that need updating (a guess). You may have uninstalled the packs but the data is still in the registry. Did you reinstall all the support programs like .net framework 3.5?

@steamerbeaker I believe that is part of visual c++ - link - visual c++ downloads Some programs require a specific version but the latest should be backwards compatible. As TS3 is a 32 bit program I recommend installing both the x86 and the x64 versions.

Hi, I downloaded both versions and I'm not getting an error message anymore, but I'm still getting this glitch when I go to update the game and it doesn't change.
