Origin Updating sims 3 won't install

I am attempting to install Sims 3. I put the disc in my disc drive and the sims 3 screen appears with a button that says install. I click install and it updates Origin. After it is updated nothing happens. I go my files and try to run the sims again and it updates Origin again. I have done this several times, even taken out the disk drive and starting again. Please help me I just want to play my game.

@boohoo8812  did you have TS3 installed on that computer before - is this fresh install? The software on the discs is dated - did you try to download the installer from Origin? Does the game icon appear in your Origin account? Was Origin running when you tried to install? As the software is out of date on the disc it is easier to use the download from Origin. If the game icon does not appear in your Origin game library you need to redeem the code in your Origin account then right click the game icon and click download.
