No CD key

I recently got a new computer and went to install the Sims 3. I inserted the disk and logged onto Origin expecting to see it there, I didn't. I thought I remembered playing the Sims 3 on my new computer but I dismissed it and went to (re?)install the Sims 3. The Set-Up wizard asked for a CD key, I didn't have the manual because I didn't pay much attention to keeping it in it's box when I first got my old computer. (which is now fried) Long story short; I don't have the CD key and the Sims 3 isn't showing up on the "My Games" list even though I remember playing it on this; and definitly on my older computer using Origin.
