Lifetime wish won’t complete in Sims 3 on Xbox 360

Both of my sims have reached their career goals to a level 10 (leader of the free world and rockstar) but their lifetime wishes were not completed.

My sims won’t continue all of the tasks I assigned if I’m not watching them. For example, if I leave to go to the park with one sim, the one left at home will stop doing everything and just stand and wait. This is my first time playing sims so I don’t really know if this is normal. Seems unreasonable though.

@NDVidYuAll  I merged your posts into one thread, since this may be the same issue.  I don't really know though—I've never played TS3 on a console.  I'll ask around if anyone has ideas for how to help you.  As we don't get much console traffic here, we also don't have much knowledge on the subject.  But hopefully someone will be able to help.
