Issues downloading dragon valley for the sims 3

I purchased the world dragon valley for the sims 3 today (paid with credit card), however when I push the download button after buying it an error comes up in the game launcher that says there was an error downloading and to check the log. But when I look at the log it doesn't show the download on it at all. Am I doing something wrong?

There's a log which can be found in documents/electronicarts/thesims3 and is called Sims3LauncherLogFile.log

Is that the log you looked at ?

What is your base game version right now ?

Open the launcher and check the number in the lower left corner.
