I cant get my dragons egg to hatch

I'm really hoping this is still somewhat active as I am having trouble gettig my dragon to hatch. I've paid for the full version through the Sims 3 website (which then brought me to Origin for actual purchase) and am wondering if this is fixable. The egg itself, i am able to buy, and the counter goes down to zero. My Sim drops the egg for the hatching, but then nothing happens and the egg is stuck there, in the spot she dropped it iin , FOR LIFE. lol. 

Please, someone, ,ANYONE, help me fix this.
