Glitch?

I bought a computer for my sim in the store, got it all set up - it won't let me use it, though. It says you cannot use it without a chair. But.....I have a chair in front of the computer. The sim also won't sit in the chair unless it's far away from the desk, so I don't know how to do both..  Is this just a glitch that will sort itself out eventually? Or am I not lining something up right?

If you try to grab the table, does the chair come with ? If not, they are not lined up properly.

Is this a computer/chair/desk from the game, the Sims 3 Store or custom content ?
