@miajoyrowe If it's been stuck that long, it's not going to unstick. Use crtl-alt-delete to bring up the Task Manager, select TS3.exe or TS3W.exe (whichever you see), and click the button to End Process.
Next, open your TS3 game folder, in Documents\Electronic Arts. Open the CurrentGame.sims3 folder and delete anything you find in there. (This folder should always be empty unless the game is actually running.) Go back into the main TS3 folder, and delete the five cache files you see listed. They should be deleted regularly even in the absence of game issues, as they tend to clog up with stale data. For reference, these files are:
Restart your computer, relaunch the game, and see if you can load the save. If you can't, there are a couple of more thorough interventions you can try; let me know if you need them.
