Hi. I installed the sims 3 base game and want to install my extensions, but the extensions keep asking for the installation of base game altough it's already installed.
@02051106 What kind of install is this? Have you ever installed the game on this computer before? Origin is supposed to play nicely with discs, but that doesn't always happen. If you were planning on going for a mixed install, it might be better to install entirely through Origin. (It should be noted that Steam installs cannot be combined with any other type.)
If you've installed via disc, you could also try running the Super Patch to bring your patch level to 1.67. But don't do this if you've installed via either Steam or Origin.
If you've installed through Origin and are still seeing this message, try clearing Origin's cache. If that doesn't work, you can uninstall and reinstall Origin itself, which wouldn't affect your installed games.
If you happen to be on a mac, there's an entirely different conversation to be had. But the first place to start is with the Super Patch, and then a reset of Origin.
@02051106 Is the base game a Steam version or Disc version or Origin install? The reason I ask is Steam installs the base game in a different location then the EA version and expansion packs need to be from the same source as the base game. Steam provides a code so you can activate your base game in Origin.
