Error Re-Downloading SIms 3 Items from the Store on a Mac

When I purchase items from the store, they do not download or ask my permission to download. The launcher pops up and freezes so I have to force quit the program. Help?? EA customer service is extremely inconvenient. I cannot find any other reported problems related to mine.

Are you opening the launcher on its own? Or is it crashing when you are trying to download the custom content from the website itself? 

Could you check if you are able to download it from the in-game store?
