Downloading Items from the Sims 3 Exchange Store

Some of the items I download from the the Sims Exchange store on the website, via the Sims 3 Game Launcher, is not fully downloaded due to missing  EP or SP content. What does that mean??

Also...

Some of the content that I want to buy note information about having CC or no CC..What does that mean??

missing EP or SP is expansion pack or stuff pack an item say a chair  a dress shoes etc recoloured are from an expansion pack or stuf pack you do not own

CC is custom content possiably from a thrid party site for example skin or contact eyes or hair  for a sim, or the creator has made their own patterns with the CAP(create a pattern ) tool some cc is very safe and others not safe at all and can cause you trouble with your game
