Custom content showing up blank in CAS? [ Edited ]

CC that I download from the Exchange shows up as blank (white) in my game, despite the fact that it supposedly downloaded correctly. When I go to look for the custom pattern in CAP, it shows up, but as for the actual outfit itself it's simply white. For example, say I downloaded a dress with a custom teddy bear pattern. I start up Sims 3, go to CAS, and click on the custom preset for that dress. When I do, the dress shows up plain white, blank. In place of the custom pattern is this ugly plain white texture. When I go into CAP in-game, the teddy bear pattern shows up, so what gives? This is just a hypothetical example, I didn't really download any teddy bear patterns. But I have downloaded dresses/clothing with other patterns on the Exchange and had this happen to me. Does anyone know how to fix it? It's really annoying. Here are my PC's specs, if that helps:

@Nineteenchockin  I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but maybe a bit of experimentation will help clear things up.  For example, what happens if you apply the pattern to the blank article of clothing, then save, quit, delete your cache files, and reload?  By the way, are you clearing those cache files?  They should be deleted every time you add or remove content to or from your game folder, whether mods or cc or a new pack.  For reference, those files are:

• CASPartCache.package
• compositorCache.package
• scriptCache.package
• simCompositorCache.package
• socialCache.package

If that doesn't help, try installing one item into a clean game folder.  Drag your existing TS3 folder out of Documents and onto your desktop, then spawn a new one by opening the launcher.  Install some Exchange file that hasn't worked in the past, then clear your caches again (if they're there), and load the game to test.

If this works, but clearing the caches alone did not, then you may have a corrupt file in your existing game folder.  I'd suspect userpresets.package, but it could be a different one.  Regardless, you can just move your saves and installed content into your new folder from the old one, leaving behind what you don't need.  Here's an explanation of everything you'll find in the folder:

The one thing to be careful of is your new .dbc file in DCCache.  It needs to be renamed so that its number is one higher than the highest of your existing files, i.e. if you currently have dcdb0.dbc through dcdb4.dbc, the new one you just created will be dcdb5.dbc.  (You can ignore the .ebc files, which are bundled store content.)  Another file that might be corrupt is your newest existing .dbc file, where your newly installed content will land.  Creating another one and giving it a higher number will force the game to install cc into that one instead, bypassing the corrupt file entirely.

If none of this helps, then it's possible that something is wrong with the downloads you're getting.  But if you don't see any other signs of corruption, then I wouldn't worry about it.  As you said, the patterns show up in CAP, and you can manually apply them yourself if you need to.
