Can't buy house

In Riverview, I am trying to purchase an unoccupied house. The address is 1056 Cypress Lane - it is §66,196. However, I can only 'ring bell' (although it is greyed out). I can't purchase it. Does anyone know how I can buy the house?

@escapedpolarbear  If your sims want to move into the house, they have to use the phone or computer.  Look for something like "real estate and travel."  My sims can buy a second property as well, at least on the computer, but I'm not sure whether this is a built-in game function or it comes from one of my mods.
