BLACK SCREEN BUG!

I have been having a major problem with The Sims 3 for the past few months now! I refuse to uninstall and reinstall because loading onto a external hard drive never works with my game files! What has been happening is whenever I click the play button on the game launcher it loads a completely black screen, the sound still plays like its loading normally but I cannot see anything! I have called EA and done everything single thing that they have asked me to try and it does not work PERIOD! They have also given me the most horrifying customer support in decades over this bug! I am running Windows 10 on an MSI Gaming Series Laptop (one with rainbow keyboard) PLEASE HELP ME!!
